XII PRÊMIO CARLOS GOMES DE ÓPERA E MÚSICA ERUDITA
XII Prêmio Carlos Gomes de Ópera e Música Erudita
O XII Prêmio Carlos Gomes de Ópera e Música Erudita será outorgado aos artistas ou organizações culturais que mais se distinguiram por suas realizações em 2008. Serão 12 categorias: Solista Instrumental, Regente, Conjunto de Câmara, Orquestra Sinfônica, Cantor Solista, Cantora Solista, Regente de Ópera, Direção de Cena, Figurino, Cenário, Iluminação, Espetáculo de Ópera. E ainda o Troféu Guarany, em reconhecimento do conjunto da obra de seu ganhador e o prêmio aos incentivadores da música e o Troféu Pedro II, que não participará do processo de indicação e de votação. A realização é da Algol Editora.
A Comissão Organizadora será presidida pelo soprano Niza de Castro Tank, com vice-presidência do compositor Almeida Prado. O pesquisador e professor Sérgio Casoy é o secretário do Colegiado de Indicação, órgão composto por cerca de 30 especialistas desse segmento cultural, que elaborará a Lista dos Indicados em cada categoria. A partir dos nomes indicados, um Corpo de Jurados, composto por cerca de 200 membros de todo o Brasil, decidirá, por votação, o vencedor em cada categoria. Haverá também um júri popular, com participação aberta a todos os brasileiros, que, através da internet, votará nos candidatos indicados. O resultado desta votação será juntado aos votos do Corpo de Jurados para a determinação dos vencedores, na proporção de 10% dos votos dos jurados.
Cada vencedor receberá um diploma, um troféu, e R$ 3 mil em dinheiro. O homenageado com o Troféu Guarany receberá R$ 5 mil. O Troféu Pedro II não tem prêmio em dinheiro.
No dia 11 de maio, segunda-feira, acontecerá a cerimônia de entrega do XII Prêmio Carlos Gomes na Sala São Paulo, com concerto da Sinfônica de Campinas, sob regência de Lígia Amadio.
A publicação da lista dos indicados e o início da votação acontecem no dia 13 de abril e vão até o dia 30 de abril.
Niza de Castro Tank: “Certa vez me perguntaram se eu havia conhecido Carlos Gomes... Pode uma coisa dessas? É claro que não o conheci, mas, mesmo assim, me lembro com muito carinho do primeiro encontro com sua obra, nos anos 50, quando cantava na Rádio Gazeta ao lado de grandes entusiastas de seu trabalho, como o maestro Armando Belardi. O fascínio daquele contato , nos anos seguintes, transformaria-se em uma relação profunda, que marcaria toda a minha vida profissional, como cantora, pesquisadora e professora. Sinto-me, portanto, honrada em presidir o prêmio que leva seu nome, reencontrando assim um amigo de longa data. E me parece justo que seja ele, com sua obra riquíssima, o patrono dessa premiação – uma premiação que tem como objetivo valorizar o trabalho do artista brasileiro, esse herói que, como Carlos Gomes já havia feito em sua época, luta contra muitas adversidades para manter vivo o prazer de fazer música. É nossa esperança que, em seu nome, esse prêmio possa ajudar a consolidar a vida musical deste país, para que o esquecimento e o descaso com que a obra de Carlos Gomes precisou lidar deixem de fazer parte da realidade de nossos músicos.”
Desde 2006, a Algol Editora lança CDs, DVD e livros de qualidade na área cultural. O início foi com o lançamento do livro Minhas Pobres Canções, de Niza de Castro Tank, que traz dois CDs com as canções e partituras de Carlos Gomes. O salto quantitativo aconteceu com a participação na 20ª edição da Bienal Internacional do Livro de São Paulo em 2008, quando a editora completou 17 volumes lançados entre CDs e livros de música, poesia, biografia, cinema e jornalismo.

BERLIOZ E "ROMEU E JULIETA"
A música clássica tem uma característica muito própria. Muitas vezes ouvimos uma obra várias vezes sem que ela nos cative, ou seja, não descobrimos sua beleza particular. Um belo dia, voltamos a ouvi-la e, de repente, ela se nos mostra de uma forma diferente. Vem com "tudo". Foi o que aconteceu com "Romeu de Julieta", de Berlioz, uma Sinfonia dramática com coros, solos, canto e prólogo, em recitativo coral, como a descreveu o próprio compositor. Tinha ele, na ocasião, 36 anos. Esse seu opus 17 nos mostra toda sua arte instrumentativa e o quanto seu trabalho apontava para o futuro. A obra toda é muito boa, especialmente as terceiras e quinta cenas e o final, um dos mais belos que conheço. Toda a essência dessa bela história de amor está nessa "sinfonia" na qua, segundo o músicólogo Ernest Newman " seu espírito chegava a resultados mais sutis, e ele cantava não a si próprio, mas a toda a humanidade. É agora o que todo grande artista é instintivamente - filósofo tanto quanto cantor". Dessa obra há um dvd, no qual a peça é executada pela excelente Bavarian Radio Symphony sob a regência de um especialista: Sir Colin Davis. Os cantores são a mezzo Hanna Schwarz, o tenor Philip Langridge,e o baixo Peter Meven . A gravação é de 1983. Se você a aprecia, não pode deixar de tê-la.

Compositor, libretista, director musical y director de escena forman, o deben formar, una piña, y a su planificación y exigencias comunes se adaptan, o se deben adaptar, los cantantes. Las tendencias dominantes es que esos equipos tengan continuidad y eso vale tanto para modelos europeos -Phili-ppe Boesmans, Luc Bondy, pongamos por caso- como americanos -John Adams, Alice Goodman, Peter Sellars-. Importa mucho la compenetración, desde luego.

Uma bela sinfonia pouco executada. Gostaria de ver o olhar de Tortelier sobre ela.
A celeuma em torno da demissão de Neschling e das alterações na programação esquentaram no final de semana passado. Evidente que obras tinham que ser alteradas com a vinda de novos regentes, porém, numa olhada rápida, não me parece que os prejuízos tenham sido tão grandes assim. Os mais pessimistas falam em "início da decadência". Não acredito. Teremos em 2010, uma grande temporada, já então organizada por Tortelier. Vamos em frente!

ORFEU E EURÍDICE
A Sala Bom Bril teve metade de sua sala tomada na apresentação de hoje.
Um excelente desempenho do duo principal Stephanie Blythe e Danielle de Niese.
A orquestra do Met esteve bem conduzida por James Levine.
Nesta ópera, abordagens modernosas não funcionam. A melhor solução, hoje, é a adoção de um cenário estilizado com boa iluminação e figurinos de época. A produção de Mark Morris e iluminação de James F. Ingallas deixam a desejar.
Parabéns aos organizadores que colocaram São Paulo nesse circuito.

ALTERAÇÕES NA PROGRAMAÇÃO DA OSESP
Evidentemente teria que haver alterações na programação com a demissão do maestro John Neschling. Os compromissos, internacionalmente, são assumidos com muita antecedência.
Uma das mudanças é excelente. Teremos a oportunidade de verificar in loco o talento da maestrina portuguesa, Joana Carneiro; uma dupla apresentação de Gennady Rozhdestvensky; várias apresentações de Claus Peter Flor. Há, como não podia deixar de ser, alguns outros não tão bons e famosos. Enfim, são as circunstâncias.
Alguns já estão apontando esse fato como uma mudança negativa na qualidade da Osesp. Ora, isso não procede. Teremos um ano atípico, infelizmente. Com certeza será superado e teremos várias apresentações do excelente Tortelier.
Vamos em frente!!
