Concert Lyrique Exceptionnel à l'Opéra de Paris – ARTE Concert HD
Pour la fête de la musique, l’Opéra de Paris, a décidé d’organiser un concert lyrique exceptionnel, dirigé de la main de son directeur musical : Philippe Jordan. Le suisse, qui dirige aussi l’Orchestre Symphonique de Vienne, revisite ici les répertoires lyriques de Verdi, Bizet, Puccini, Saint-Saëns et Bellini. Des interprétations pour lesquelles le fils du maître Armin Jordan s’adjoint des organes des Chœurs de l’Opéra national de Paris, mais aussi des solistes Sondra Radvanovsky, Aleksandrs Antonenko, et Anita Rachvelishvili.

Staged by Annabel Arden, Glyndebourne's new production of the opera buffa Il barbiere di Siviglia features Danielle de Niese, Alessandro Corbelli, Taylor Stayton and Björn Bürger. Enrique Mazzola conducts the London Philharmonic Orchestra.
Glyndebourne Festival presents an all-new production of Rossini's famous opera Il barbiere di Siviglia—a masterpiece not seen there since 1982. It is directed with playful energy by Annabel Arden. Under the baton of the Italian conductor and specialist in bel canto, Enrique Mazzola, the London Philharmonic Orchestra follows Rossini's well-known scores. The leading roles are interpreted by Danielle de Niese (Rosina), Alessandro Corbelli (Dr Bartolo), Taylor Stayton (Count Almaviva), Björn Bürger (Figaro), Christophoros Stamboglis (Basilio) and Janis Kelly (Berta).

In this interview Janet Baker talks about her work with Austrian singing teacher Helene Isepp, the conductor Peter Gellhorn and the pianist Paul Hamburger as well as other émigré musicians. She also discusses the overall importance of émigré musicians from Germany and Austria on music in Britain.
This interview is presented as part of the ORAL HISTORY PROJECT "Singing a Song in a Foreign Land", which focuses on musicians who emigrated from Central Europe because of Nazi persecution in the 1930s and 40s.
